Los Naranjos GC traveled to Sweden as every year to represent the Club during the Nordea Master, this year was celebrated in Barsebäck Golf Course close to the city of Malmö.
The representative Cecilia Löwenhielm met with Swedish players and visitors from the 1st to the 4th of june promoting new membership shares of Los Naranjos GC, besides, the golf packages the club has prepared along with the four star hotel H10 Andalucía Plaza for this winter season.
Despite a rainy Sunday, the total number of visitor was 86.100 persons, achieving more public than last year in Bro Hof GC. The partner village was installed close to the Club House accommodating travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, golf courses, etc.
Los Naranjos GC will continue participating in next year’s Norde Master that will be held in Hills GC Gothenburg.
It is now the turn of the third major of the year, the British Open.
High levels of entertainment in golf is guaranteed with the maximum rivalry and good atmosphere that reigns currently among European golfers.
Henrik Stenson, was awarded “Champion Golfer of the Year 2016” after winning his first major, “The Open Championship” held at Royal Troon last July. He will try to defend his title against Sergio Garcia who is going through the best moment of his professional career and coming this year to the “British Open” after winning his first major and also first major of the season, the “Masters Tournament” held last April in Augusta.
Sergio have been very close to winning the “British Open” in the past, when in 2007 and 2014, he ceded the first position to Pádraig Harrington and Rory McIlroy respectively, fininishing second both years.
Both Henrik and Sergio already know the feeling of winning a major, but… who will lift the trophy this year?
Many golfers have options to win the title; Dustin Johnson leads the “Official World Golf Ranking”. He was the winner of the “U.S. Open Championship” 2016 and he is eager to conquer his second “major”. Of course, we cannot forget and rule out other golfers such us Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose or future golf promises like Jon Rahm who will be fighting for the tournament.
Royal Birkdale Golf Club hosts the “British Open” from the 16th to 23rd of July for the tenth time since 1954, so we will have to wait until july to know who the winner will be this year.
